Acceptance of terms
By creating an account or using Achoo, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
What Achoo provides
Achoo is a web application and an iOS application that display real-time pollen and allergen data based on your location. It allows you to track allergens, log symptoms, track medications and treatments, compare treatment outcomes from your logs, review personal allergy patterns (allergen-symptom matching, personal scores, pattern spotting), receive sensitivity alerts when your declared allergens are elevated, view forecast warnings about upcoming high-risk days, get email notifications (daily alerts and spike alerts), search pollen levels in any city for travel planning, and receive in-app alerts when allergen levels are high.
Not medical advice
Achoo is an informational tool only. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. The pollen data, tips, and recommendations shown in the app are for general informational purposes. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional for medical decisions.
Treatment comparisons, personal scores, allergen-symptom patterns, sensitivity alerts, forecast warnings, and "What Seemed to Help" summaries are based on statistical patterns in your self-reported data. They are not medical advice, clinical assessments, or professional treatment recommendations.
Confidence indicators shown alongside insights describe how much data the app has to work with, not how medically reliable the results are. Even high-confidence scores are statistical estimates, not clinical measurements.
Forecast warnings and sensitivity alerts are based on predicted allergen levels and your self-reported history. Predictions may be inaccurate and should not replace professional medical guidance.
Do not start, stop, or change any medication based solely on information from Achoo. Always consult your doctor or allergist before making treatment decisions.
Achoo does not verify the accuracy of self-reported symptom or treatment data.
Accounts
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. You must provide a valid email address to create an account.
You can delete your account at any time from the iOS app or by contacting us. Deletion is permanent: an active subscription is cancelled, and any remaining subscription time and lifetime access are forfeited (see Refunds).
Free trial
- ─ New users receive a 7-day free trial with full access to all Plus features.
- ─ No credit card is required for the trial.
- ─ After the trial ends, your account moves to the free tier, which retains the daily check-in and streak. Real pollen data and the morning brief require a Basics or Plus subscription; detailed symptom and treatment logging and personal insights require Plus. Founders Lifetime access and participation in the iPhone beta include Plus features. Basics, Plus, and Founders Lifetime are no longer sold on the website (see Subscriptions & payments).
- ─ The trial cannot be extended or restarted.
iPhone beta
- ─ Participation in the iPhone beta is by invitation only. Beta versions distributed through TestFlight are for testing, and features may change or be removed without notice.
- ─ While the beta runs, participants receive access to Plus features at no charge. Beta access to Plus features ends when the beta ends. After that, your account returns to the plan it would otherwise have: an active subscription or lifetime access continues, and otherwise your account moves to the free tier.
- ─ We set the end date of the beta and may end the beta or change its end date at any time.
- ─ Beta access does not pause, cancel, or refund an existing subscription. Subscription charges continue on their normal schedule.
- ─ During the beta, the app may offer you the option to reserve a founding price. We plan to offer a paid subscription to the iPhone app when the beta ends, at $24.99 per year or $2.99 per month. If you reserve the founding price, we will offer you your first year of the annual subscription for $19.99.
- ─ Reserving the founding price is free. It does not charge you, does not start a subscription, and does not oblige you to buy anything. To receive the founding price you must accept the offer and complete the purchase through Apple's App Store when the subscription becomes available.
- ─ We will send the offer to the email address on your account. It can be redeemed for at least 30 days after we send it, applies to the first year only, and cannot be exchanged for cash. After the first year the subscription renews at the standard price then in effect unless you cancel. Prices are in US dollars, exclude any applicable taxes, and may differ in other countries' App Stores.
- ─ We may stop taking reservations at any time. If we launch the annual subscription described above, we will honor reservations already made. If we decide not to offer it, a reservation lapses and creates no obligation for you or for us.
Email and push notifications
- ─ Alert emails (daily pollen reports, spike alerts) are opt-in. You will not receive alert emails unless you enable them.
- ─ Transactional emails (welcome, trial reminders) are sent automatically as part of your account. You can unsubscribe from these separately.
- ─ You can unsubscribe at any time via the one-click link in any email, or through your notification settings.
- ─ We are not responsible for email delivery failures caused by your email provider.
- ─ Push notifications are opt-in. You will not receive push notifications unless you turn them on.
- ─ Push notifications in the iOS app are delivered by Apple through the Apple Push Notification service. We are not responsible for push notification delivery failures caused by Apple.
Subscriptions & payments
- ─ Achoo no longer sells subscriptions or Founders Lifetime access on the website. The Basics, Plus, and Founders Lifetime plans are closed to new purchases.
- ─ We plan to offer a paid subscription to the iPhone app through Apple's App Store when the iPhone beta ends (see iPhone beta).
- ─ The remaining terms in this section apply to subscriptions and Founders Lifetime access purchased on the website before those plans closed.
- ─ Basics includes real-time pollen data, forecasts, and the morning brief (push and email) with spike alerts. Plus includes everything in Basics plus detailed symptom and treatment logging and personal insights (triggers, risk score, and personal forecast).
- ─ Payments for these plans are processed by Polar, and Polar's terms of service apply to them.
- ─ Basics and Plus subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled.
- ─ You can cancel your subscription at any time through the Manage plan option on your You page.
- ─ Founders Lifetime access is a one-time purchase that grants permanent Plus access. Future premium add-ons (such as AI-powered features) may be offered separately and are not included in the Lifetime plan.
- ─ Holding Founders Lifetime access does not cancel a Basics or Plus subscription. If you hold both, cancel the subscription through the Manage plan option on your You page; it will not cancel automatically.
Refunds
If you are not satisfied with Achoo, contact us within 14 days of purchase for a full refund. After 14 days, refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. Contact us at the email below.
Data accuracy
Pollen and allergen data is sourced from the Google Pollen API. While we strive to display accurate information, we cannot guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of the data. Environmental conditions change rapidly and data may not reflect real-time conditions at your exact location.
Personal insights, treatment comparisons, allergen-symptom patterns, sensitivity alerts, and forecast warnings are calculated from your self-reported data combined with third-party allergen data. Both sources may contain inaccuracies.
City search results are based on OpenStreetMap geocoding and Google Pollen API data, which may not be available for all locations.
Limitation of liability
Achoo is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any damages arising from the use of this service, including but not limited to health decisions made based on data displayed in the app.
Treatment comparison percentages, personal scores, allergen-symptom patterns, sensitivity alerts, and forecast warnings are statistical estimates based on limited self-reported data. They should not be relied upon as accurate medical measurements.
We are not liable for any adverse health outcomes resulting from decisions made based on data, insights, recommendations, or treatment comparison data displayed in the app.
The accuracy of insights improves with more data but is never guaranteed. Small sample sizes may produce misleading results.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of Achoo after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
